It can be hard to figure out the science of nutrition for athletes – I’m a workout fanatic and a nutrition minor and I still have a hard time with it. Basically, 30-45m after my workout I aim to have a small meal that is high-protein, medium carb and low-fat. The rest of my meals are high fat, so I don’t worry too much about that. Post-workout, though, I want something that is delicious and functional for my goals. Enter the post workout shake! This one is strawberry but I have all kinds of crazy flavors normally.


post-workout strawberry shake
8oz almond milk
4oz Greek yogurt
1 scoop dymatize elite 7 strawberry shake protein
8oz frozen strawberries

In a blender, combine almond milk, yogurt and protein. When that mixture reaches a smooth, even consistency add in the frozen strawberries and blend until the mixture is thick and creamy.

I topped mine with cacao nibs, flaxseed and coconut flakes and sipped it from a martini glass. How do you like your smoothies?
