What do you-as a limitless, wonderful, powerful human being delight-in? Not just what do you like, or what do you enjoy, or what do you do. But what do you celebrate? What makes you belly-laugh until your abs are sore and you have tears all over your face?
When was the last time you did that – laughed, until your body was sore from pure delight and celebration?
If you can’t remember, it’s been too long since you were joyful. It is so easy to experience delight in life when we stop putting ourselves down and start celebrating ourselves and what makes us amazing.
It is so hard to experience delight in life when we are caught up in the default and drudgery of the day-to-day. It is hard, but there’s a fix. I don’t want to say it’s an easy fix – but it’s a fix.
Stop letting yourself settle. Accept that you deserve delight – that delight is yours by right and you are allowed to seek delight in whatever way makes you happiest and healthiest. Sometimes that means yoga, or baking, or research, or time with family, or mental healthy days, or a career change and a six-month backpacking trip to nepal.
